Now I don’t usually run promotional copy on the site, but when a good cause comes a knocking I just can’t say no.

Anyway, the PR copy mostly goes like this.

On Wednesday the 6th of February, Studiocanal and cult funnyman Simon Pegg will be hosting a special charity screening of the award winning and Oscar® nominated, Beasts Of The Southern Wild at London’s Mayfair Hotel.

This screening is open to the public at £10 a go, and you can get tickets right here.

All money raised will go towards Oxfam’s work in overcoming poverty and suffering around the world, and definitely not on some all night Soho jolly for the charity’s CEO, his wife and her two small dogs.

Seriously though, if you can think of a better way to spend ten of your english pounds than watching a great film in a swanky Mayfair location with Simon Pegg while helping out some folks in need, you’re a smarter man* than me.
